“Nice Girls (Still) Don’t Get the Corner Office: 101 Unconscious Mistakes Women Make That Sabotage Their Careers” by Lois P. Frankel, PhD

I stumbled upon “Nice girls (still) don’t get the corner office” while I was shopping for a book-present for my boyfriend. I found it in the hidden and dusty back of a shelve, where it remained unloved and was silently waiting for me to find it.

It was exactly two years ago, when I was still new in Germany and had just received a job offer from a big company. I had been applying for more than 3 months and was ready to finally start to work again. It was my first real job, I did not know how to behave, but I knew that I did not want to mess it up. As you may imagine, it felt like a gift from above!

This book has guided me into the deep and merciless business world for women and I could not be more grateful to Ms. Frankel for this! This is the recently updated version of her 2004 bestseller and it basically covers any possible scenario that you may encounter in your business life. The reason why this book is so amazing, is because it not only focuses on many problems woman face on a daily basis, but because it also offers you real-life solutions AND coaching topics that you could work on yourself. It is basically a grown-up workbook that you can work on over and over again throughout your different life-stages.

It doesn’t matter if you are 20 and just diving into this crazy and wonderful new world, or an experienced CEO, this is a great book that everyone can learn something from.
